The Lafayette Public Library is seeking proposals to purchase approximately 4 to 6 acres of land within the corporate limits of Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, for the construction of the West Regional Library. This regional library will serve the Scott area, Duson area, and western Lafayette Parish. The library is scheduled to be planned in 2013 and 2014.
The proposed site must be within the corporate limits of Lafayette Parish, Louisiana and should be located within a 1.5 mile radius of the intersection of Hwy 90 (Cameron Street) and Jenkins Road.
The proposed site should be highly visible, easily accessible, and be able to offer access to all major utilities. The proposed site shall be suitable to accommodate a regional library, ultimately of approximately 35,000 square feet as well as between 160 and 200 parking spaces.
The Lafayette Public Library will consider land with is offered for purchase, via cooperative endeavor, via Intergovernmental Agreement, or as a gift.
